About Us

Digital Natives Academy (DNA) is an award-winning, Indigenous-centred non-profit established in 2014 to grow bold, creative thinkers who don’t just use and consume technology, they create and shape it.

Our kaupapa (vision) is grounded in Te Ao Māori and guided by our Three Kete of Knowledgetaiao (environment), ahurea (culture), and pā harakeke (intergenerational foundations). Together, these kete inform how we teach, build, and imagine the future. At DNA, rangatahi learn to become creators, developers, critics, and guardians of technology, equipped with the skills, confidence, and values to navigate a rapidly changing world shaped by climate change and artificial intelligence.

We work at the intersection of digital creativity, climate action, and AI, empowering young people to design Indigenous-led solutions to global challenges.

Through project-based learning and real-world problems, learners explore how emerging technologies can protect the environment, strengthen cultural identity, and create lasting impact for future generations.

DNA is more than a place to learn technical skills. It is an intergenerational centre of digital excellence, a sanctuary of belonging where outliers find whānau, curiosity is nurtured, and leadership is grown with care and responsibility.
